abstract="Pain is a one of very common symptoms of most rheumatic diseases. A strategy for the treatment of pain in these diseases consist in the effective treatment of acute pain and prevention of its transition to chronic pain. In inflammatory rheumatic diseases, e.g. in rheumatoid arthritis, it is possible to achieve effective elimination of chronic pain through the early and proper use of the disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs. In the case of osteoarthritis or spinal pain with multifactorial etiology the symptomatic treatment is mainly used. The most commonly used in the pain treatment are non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. The analgesic treatment strategy should be individually selected for each patient. In the selection of medication, both the age of the patient and the concomitant diseases and preparations used for their treatment should be taken into account.",
