title="Diagnosis and treatment of deep venous thrombosis",
abstract=" Objectives: Deep venous thrombosis belongs to the most threatening complications of pregnancy and puerperium. Incidence of this pathology ranges from 0.01 to 0.3%. In western countries venous thromboembolic disease is the main cause of mortality in pregnant women and early diagnosis with proper treatment has the greatest influence onto prognosis. The aim of this study is presentation of diagnostics and treatment of deep venous thrombosis in pregnant women from the authors experience. Materials and methods: Thirteen pregnant women with clinical symptoms suggesting the presence of coagulation disorders were included in prospective studies. Deep venous thrombosis was diagnosed in five patients on the basis of ultrasound examination. Intensive heparin therapy was instituted in all cases. Results: Gradual recovery from symptoms of disease was observed during hospitalization. All pregnancies finished with delivery of a healthy child. Embolic complications were not noticed. Conclusions: 1. Deep venous thrombosis is a severe complication of pregnancy requiring hospitalization and intensive treatment. 2. Proper pharmacotherapy decreases the risk of embolic complications and gives the chance for successful pregnancy outcome. ",
