title="Directiveness and quality of life of patients regional hospital in Ciechanów",
abstract="  Introduction.  Authoritarianism that desire or tendency to impose its will on others. Is a feature of personality and is an aggressive domination. Authoritarianism represents something more than authoritarianism, as corresponds to such features as: aggressiveness, achievement motivation, assertiveness, discrimination, prejudice and power. Prescriptive attitude seems to have influenced the development of diseases, especially cardiovascular.   Aim.  The purpose of this study is to understand the level of authoritarianism and quality of life in patients of different branches of the Regional Hospital in Ciechanow and establish a link between hope and subjective health status of patients.   Material and methods.  The study was conducted among 114 patients in the Regional Hospital in Ciechanów. The control group consisted of healthy people. The method of diagnostic survey. Research tools included: scale of authoritarianism (D-15), Satisfaction With Life Scale (SWLS) and a questionnaire for subjective assessment of health. The obtained results were statistically analyzed and statistical verification of hypotheses.   Results.  Authoritarianism level among those not hospitalized is significantly lower than in the control group of healthy people. Among the patients staying at the various branches of the lack of statistically significant differences in the level of primary hope. There is a statistically significant relationship between the level of quality of life and the seriousness authoritarianism. Evaluation of quality of life for patients with high scores on the scale is higher.   Conclusions.  Authoritarianism, as a personality trait may affect the assessment of the quality of life for patients. Nursing Topics 2012; 20 (4): 461\–465",
