title="Therapies to assist the nursing care of patients with dysphagia",
abstract="Dysphagia in nursing care, an important issue protective. Dysphagia is defined as difficulty in moving food from the mouth into the esophagus or along the esophagus. This disorder most commonly associates neurological diseases, significantly reducing the quality of life of patients, sometimes causing life-threatening complications, especially respiratory. Dysphagia can manifest itself through: choking, coughing, watery eyes, sneezing, retching, feeling of retention of food in the esophagus, bursting with pain on swallowing. In the process of treatment and care, plays an important modification of diet, adequate equipment for feeding, knowledge of swallowing techniques, as well as exercises to improve muscles of the mouth, pharynx and larynx and breathing training. This article presents the process of swallowing physiology, causes and distribution of eating disorders and guidelines for proper nursing care.",
