title="The level of knowledge of patients with type 2 diabetes on late complications \&#8212; education of patient",
abstract="  Introduction.  According to World Health Organization (WHO) forecasts, diabetes is a disease developing in a dynamic rate, which carries an increased risk of late complications, both macro and microvascular and premature mortality. That is why not to be underestimated is the fact a reliable identification of factors of the disease, monitoring its progress and current patient education.   Aim of the study.  Assessment of the level of patients\&#8217; knowledge on late complications and educational activities.   Material and methods.  The study was conducted at The Medical Centre in Lodz. The study group comprised 100 people. The study used a questionnaire that was designed specifically for research. The results obtained were analyzed using Pearson\&#8217;s \&chi; 2  test. Depending strength were examined using Pearson\&#8217;s factor of contingency.   Results and conclusions.  Majority people in the study group (80%) had late complications. About the possibility of complications knows 90% of respondents. It has recognized a small correlation p < 0.05 in the responses between men and women. However most respondents do not have appropriate knowledge about the frequency of occurrence of the disease complications. It has shown that 66% of respondents think that they are good prepared for self-care, however they notice the need to further strengthen the educational activities of medical staff especially nurses diabetes.",
