title="Stress in the work of nurses as a risk factor for burnout",
abstract=" Introduction . Studies conducted in Poland and the world show that the greatest exposure to burnout exists among medical staff and most concerns of nurses.   Aim of the study . Assessment of exposure to stress and burnout of nurses working in a closed health care in the province of Podlaskie, depending on the job.   Material and methods . The study was conducted in the last quarter of 2009 among 102 nurses working in a closed health care in the Podlaskie province. The research method was a diagnostic survey. All data obtained are analyzed statistically.   Results . The study population 72.6% of nurses were exposed to stress in the workplace. Nurses of internal department most often had symptoms of the burnout syndrome (47.1% of nurses had emotional exhaustion, depersonalization \&#8212; 20.6% and 70.7% had job satisfaction).   Conclusions . In the studied population of nurses we found that high levels of stress affected the low level of burnout syndrome.
