title="Basic hope and quality of life of patients Regional Specialist Hospital in Ciechanów",
abstract=" Introduction . Basic hope is a specific human conviction of two broad and interrelated characteristics of the world: that it is orderly and supportive people. Thus constitutes the interpretation of the events happening in the world, which man tries to predict and assess their chances in a confrontation with them. Hope plays a special role in primary in dealing with situations of irretrievable loss. Its adaptive role is to engaging in changing the fact that you cannot change. In situations of failure is associated with greater involvement in the problem.   Aim of the study . The purpose of this study is to understand the level of basic hope and quality of life in patients of different branches of the Regional Specialist Hospital in Ciechanów and establish a link between hope and subjective health status of patients.   Material and methods . The study was conducted among 108 patients in the Regional Hospital in Ciechanów. The control group consisted of healthy people. The method of diagnostic survey. Research tools included: Questionnaire Hope Elementary (BHI-12), Satisfaction With Life Scale (SWLS) and a questionnaire for subjective assessment of health and factors affecting them during their stay in hospital. The obtained results were statistically analyzed and statistical verification of hypotheses.   Results . Level of basic hope among people hospitalized was significantly lower than in healthy controls. A higher level of basic hope to men. Among the patients staying at different locations, there are statistically significant differences in the level of basic hope. The lowest level of basic hope was seen in patients residing in the obstetric-gynecology. Compared to other patients, significantly higher scores on a scale of satisfaction with life care than those obtained for specialized internal department. Subjective assessment of health status is significantly higher in those with higher levels of basic hope. People with a strong hope of more fundamental are optimistic and feel satisfaction with life. An important factor influencing the level of basic hope and the quality of life for patients is the level of nursing care.   Conclusions .
