title="Demographic factors in comparison with support forms which are received by people addicted to alcohol",
abstract="  Introduction.  Alcoholism is a chronic disease demanding the systematic treatment, support and care. According to the statistic data, every fourth person in our country has contact with someone who has alcoholic problem. Alcoholism refers to men oftener, however it refers to women and the youth as well. The Anonymous Alcoholic movement (AA) and later AL-Anon both started to strengthen in the thirties. It was the beginner of struggle with alcoholism based on the various kinds of social support. Having own resolution giving up drinking alcohol is the main principle of AA.   Aim of the study.  The estimation of support forms which was given to people with alcoholic problem in dependence on demographic factors.   Material and methods.  The research was conducted with 74 people who attended the AA meetings. The questionnaire elaborated by authors was used in the research. Date were analysis by Pearson method.   Results.  The men were the majority of investigated group. They received the most support from the family and self - help group. The weak statistic dependency was recognized between demographic factors and forms of support. The family and self - help group were the main source of support.
