title="Polish nurses\’ satisfaction with life",
abstract=" Introduction. Subjective wellbeing consisting of three elements, i.e. a level of satisfaction with life, positive feelings and a lack of negative feelings, constitutes one of life quality components. Satisfaction with life is perceived by each individual in a unique way. Specialist literature features numerous accounts concerning satisfaction with life of various patient groups which are subjects of nurses\’ activities, however, there are very few accounts concerning satisfaction with life of persons providing nursing care. So much so when it comes to Polish nurses. Aim of the study. The work aimed at attempting to specify the level of satisfaction with life of Polish nurses. Material and methods. The work made use of The Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS) method to assess global life satisfaction and Deiner\’s SWLS questionnaire was the research tool used in the investigation. Statistical research was done on the basis of the STATISTICA 8.0 computer software. The investigation involved 891 professionally active nurses residing in Poland in mazowieckie, kujawsko-pomorskie and lubelskie voivodeships. Results and conclusions. An average level of satisfaction with life within the researched group was 19,60. Statistical analysis showed no statistically significant relationship between an average level of satisfaction with life (city, village) and a place of residence, sex, work experience, nor subjects\’ workplace and education. Such a relation occurred with respect to respondents\’ marital status and a voivodeship they resided in. On the basis of collected data, it may be claimed that the level of satisfaction with life of Polish nurses is similar to levels of satisfaction with life of nurses from other countries. At the same time, the level of satisfaction with life of this professional group was found to be lower than that of Polish general public.",
