title="Various forms of parents’ communication with the child before birth",
abstract="The period of nine months of staying in the womb is the first important stage of human life — the time of intensive psychophysical development. The child in the mother’s womb can react to attempts of communication. When communicating with the child before birth the future parents may teach and bring up the child. Communication in the pre-natal period forms basis for the development of a strong emotional bond between the unborn child and the parents. It is a source of positive experience for the parents. The objective of this paper is to present various forms of parents’ communication with the child before birth and the foetus reaction to such behaviour. Conclusions. 1. The parents knowledge about the pre-natal development of a child is a condition for attempts to communicate with the child. 2. An unborn child is capable of reacting to stimuli produced by his or her parents. 3. Modern imaging techniques, such as USG, as well as the medical personnel caring for the woman during pregnancy may help parents to establish ties with an unborn child.
