abstract="Chronic rhinitis is an inflammatory reaction of the nasal mucosa as a result of an IgE-mediated immune response after exposure to an allergen. In addition to the severe symptoms associated with inflammation of the upper respiratory tract, the chronic disease leads to a significant deterioration in the quality of life among patients. There is more and more evidence about the occurrence of severe neurological disorders in patients suffering from allergic rhinitis that cause impairment of both their physiological and cognitive functions. This work is a review that summarizes the current state of knowledge regarding the correlation of changes in the central nervous system caused by chronic allergic rhinitis and depression and anxiety disorders, including suicidal behavior.",
