title="Physiotherapy methods used in the treatment of cystic fibrosis - a literature review",
abstract="Cystic fibrosis is the most common genetic disorder in Caucasian people. Recent studies show that every 25th person carries the gene responsible for the occurrence of cystic fibrosis, while the incidence of this disease ranges from 1: 2500 to 1: 3200 in live births. The work presents the most common disorders in the patient's body caused by cystic fibrosis and the overall physiotherapeutic process currently used to support the treatment of cystic fibrosis. It also features the currently used treatment methods and criteria according to which these methods should be selected for various patients. The review describes methods such as postural drainage, autogenic drainage, positive expiratory pressure technique, forced expiration technique and active cycle of breathing technique -including thoracic extension exercises and physical activity. In addition to the above-mentioned methods, therapy using the following devices such as the Flutter, the Acapella and drainage vest, is also discussed. The selection of available methods is quite vast. However, in order for it to be accurate, certain factors have to be considered. These include: age, stage of the condition, as well as interests, preferences and the degree of motivation of the patient.",
