title="Manual medicine in the treatment of non-specific low back pain.",
abstract="We divide the causes of back pain into specific and non-specific. The vast majority of cases relate to non-specific low back pain (nsLBP). Potential causes of nsLBP include: dysfunction of the intervertebral joints, sacroiliac joints, myofascial syndromes, psoas and piriformis muscle syndrome and general failure of the muscles stabilizing the trunk. An important element affecting the sensation of pain in nsLBP are psychological factors such as e.g. stress. Osteopathic medicine assumes that osteopathic manual treatment is able to support the body’s ability to heal itself. Due to the specificity of osteopathy, resulting from the philosophy of osteopathy, its is currently not possible to create patterns of treatment for low back pain. In the literature, we find works that confirm the effectiveness of osteopathic medicine in this group of patients.",
