title="Electrostimulation in the treatment of pressure ulcers. Review of research
and application indications",
abstract="Pressure ulcers are a serious health problem that affects many millions of people worldwide. Their treatment is usually long-lasting and complicated; therefore, new methods are constantly sought to improve the treatment of pressure ulcers. According to clinical recommendations published in recent years, electrostimulation can be used in the treatment of grade II-IV pressure ulcers. Recommendations for electrotherapy for pressure ulcers are based on randomized clinical trials as well as in vitro laboratory and in vivo animal studies. Currently, most clinical trials justify the use of high-voltage electrostimulation in the treatment of pressure ulcers. Slightly fewer clinical trials confirm the use of low-voltage electrostimulation with pulsed and alternating currents in the treatment of pressure ulcers. The article presents an overview of preclinical and clinical studies on the use of electrostimulation in the treatment of pressure ulcers and describes practical recommendations for electrotherapy of pressure ulcers.",
