title="Jakie błędy występują w leczeniu astmy w Polsce?",
abstract="It is estimated that 4,000,000 people in Poland have symptoms of asthma; however, only 2,200,000 are treated. Fundamental errors made by doctors related to asthma treatment involve diagnosis and achieving asthma control. It takes 7 years to diagnose asthma patients from the time the first symptoms occur. Patients with asthma often discontinue inhaled glycocorticosteroid treatment, and only 10% of patients continue with the treatment for longer than a year after diagnosis. Only 20% of asthmatic patients have a written action plan. Seventy-five per cent of patients critically misuse inhalers, which leads to ineffective treatment. Currently only 20% of patients achieve asthma control, half of them partial control, and 30% have uncontrolled asthma, which often leads to exacerbations. Patient education significantly improves the effectiveness of the treatment by increasing compliance and adherence.",
