abstract="Bronchial asthma is a common chronic disease with a variable course. To achieve the short-and long-term goals of asthma treatment (i.e., obtaining and maintaining disease control and preventing exacerbations and long-term consequences of the disease), it is important to assess the patient’s condition at each visit. Assessment of asthma control is critical as it determines further treatment decisions. Poor symptom control is burdensome to patients and increases the risk of exacerbations. The article discusses Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA) recommendations on the assessment of asthma symptom control and compares them with the results of the latest study Asthma Zero Project related to real-life assessment of asthma control in Poland.",
