title="Skin care in the treatment of venous ulcers. Case study",
abstract="Maintaining the physiological function and integrity of the skin is paramount in the regeneration and reconstruction of damaged tissues. In the course of the healing of leg ulcers, there are troublesome skin problems in the form of trophic changes, allergic reactions to the applied antiseptics, and skin inflammations that arise as a result of the spread of local wound infection. All dermatologic problems require close attention, observation for symptoms, and response to the care products, antiseptics, and specialized dressings. The aim of this study is to emphasize the importance of care and treatment of the lesioned skin to the overall healing process of ulceration. A case of a 64-year-old female patient with a venous ulcer that has not healed for 12 years, and with inflammatory changes in the skin around the wound was presented. The use of aggressive agents and topical medications in the form of ointments had no effect. Local conservative treatment was implemented with the whole wound hygiene, lavaseptic, antiseptic, and topical treatment of skin lesions. Grade II compression therapy was the basis of the treatment to reduce venous hypertension and reduce oedema. Healing was achieved after 111 days.",
