title="Sarcopaenic obesity",
abstract="Sarcopaenic obesity is a growing problem in our ageing society. The aim of the article is to take notice of a problem that consists of 2 health issues, which result in a combination of complications. It leads to higher risk of falls and fractures, lower quality of life, and difficulties for caretakers. Family doctors can make a diagnosis of probable sarcopaenia based on the SARC-F questionnaire and muscle strength tests. Obesity is diagnosed in patients with BMI > 30 kg/m 2 . Probable sarcopaenia is a diagnosis that should be treated to stop its progress. Its treatment must contain kinesiotherapy with personalized resistance exercises and dietary management with the proper amount of energy and at least 1 g protein/kg of proper body weight, or in case of comorbidities 1.2–1.5 g/kg of proper body weight.",
