abstract="Penetrating neck injuries amount to 10% of all trauma cases. The main causes are: assault with sharp weapon, gunshot, self-harm and traffic accidents. Injuries in which the blade remains in the wound are definitely uncommon. In this article we describe a case of a patient with a knife stuck in the external auditory canal. Furthermore we discuss the treatment algorithm in these patients and the possible complications, especially the traumatic facial nerve paralysis.",
