title="Streptococcal toxic shock syndrome",
abstract="Streptococcus pyogenes is a bacterium responsible for many human diseases of varying severity and frequency. The most common conditions include acute pharyngitis and tonsillitis or otitis media, while some patients develop very severe forms of streptococcal infections, which are referred to as invasive. One of these diseases is streptococcal toxic shock syndrome (STSS). It is a life-threatening condition with severe, therapy-resistant hypotension and multi-organ failure. In this paper, we present a case of a patient who developed STSS secondary to scarlet fever.",
