title="Constipation in palliative care patients – clinical practice guidelines",
abstract="This article presents evidence-based clinical practice guidelines for the diagnosis, prevention, and management of constipation in adult patients receiving palliative care, developed by an expert panel convened by the Polish Society of Palliative Medicine. The recommendations are based on a review of the current literature available in PubMed, MEDLINE, and the Cochrane Library, with particular consideration given to guidelines endorsed by international scientific societies, and the clinical expertise of the panel members. The quality of evidence and strength of recommendations were assessed according to the classification system of the European Society for Medical Oncology. These guidelines aim to standardize the management of constipation in palliative care patients; however, in each case, an individualized approach remains crucial, tailored to the patient’s clinical condition and specific needs.",
