title="The palliative care day centre – a missing link of palliative care in the healthcare system",
abstract="The Standards Committee of the Polish Society of Palliative Medicine has developed an organisational model of the Palliative and Supportive Care Day Centre as part of its works on organisational standards in palliative care. According to the recommendations of the Polish Society of Palliative Medicine, besides inpatient, outpatient, and home palliative care services provided to end-of-life patients, day care centres should be established as an intermediate form of assistance for them. The palliative and supportive care day centre constitutes a shift towards deinstitutionalisation of medical care and its integration with oncological treatment and complementary therapies. This paper presents a definition of the Palliative and Supportive Care Day Centre developed by the Committee. It also depicts its organisational structure, terms and conditions for providing services, procedures performed in the centre, as well as it proposes its financial model.",
