title="Systematic review, identification, and selection of quality indicators for the care of patients with cataract",
abstract="       The aim of the study was to identify and describe quality indicators (QIs) applicable to the care of patients with cataracts and to critically evaluate their methodological quality. A systematic review registered in PROSPERO was conducted in accordance with preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses guidelines. The process involved a multidisciplinary team, a bibliographic search in PubMed, CINAHL, Web of Science, methodological assessment using the appraisal of indicators through research and evaluation (AIRE) instrument, and a Delphi consensus process. Clear inclusion and exclusion criteria were applied, and indicators were classified according to the Donabedian model. 400 studies were identified, 62 QIs were extracted; 19 were assessed using AIRE, and 12 were ultimately selected through consensus. Most indicators were outcome measures (66.67%), process indicators (33.33%), while no structural indicators identified. Although limitations were observed in the involvement of key stakeholders, the selected indicators demonstrated validity and reliability. Validation through pilot studies and regular review is recommended to support continuous quality improvement in cataract care.   ",
