title="Radiotherapy of advanced squamous cell lung cancer \– valid treatment modality or expensive placebo? Attempt of survival prognostic factors assessment",
abstract="The 539 patients suffering for advanced squamous cell lung cancer, irradiated using fraction dose of 1-10 Gy up to total dose of 4-80 Gy were analysed. Correlations between different physical radiotherapy parameters, biological factors and additional, used treatment methods were checked. The attempt of survival assessment using linear discrimination function was done. The significant correlation between tumour stage, performance status, total dose and follow up period were found. The dependency between treatment result and total dose was proved. Using discrimination function the patients group living shorter than one year was specified. Obtained results allow to form conclusion that advanced squamous cell lung cancer radiotherapy influences treatment effect and survival period, what suggests to escalate total dose using standard fraction size.",
