title="Pericardial fenestration as a palliative treatment for recurrent malignant cardiac tamponade",
abstract="       This case report represents an uncommon surgical management strategy of handling recurring neoplastic pericardial effusion as part of palliative treatment of a patient with stage 4 non-small cell bronchial and pulmonary carcinoma with metastases (C34.8). It includes patient history, condition, diagnostics, and essential description of pericardial fenestration that was performed  as a palliative treatment method. Only a few patients are qualified for pericardial fenestration; nevertheless, the effect is significant improvement in quality of life. Herein, the results of the operation are presented, compared to other similar cases in the literature, and supported by the latest recommendations. The aim of this report is to prove the clinical significance of rarely performed pericardial fenestration and its impact on quality of life.   ",
