title="Hybrid endovenous procedures as a method of choice in the treatment of recurrent varicose veins in a patient after classical procedures of the great saphenous vein: a case report",
abstract=" In this clinical report, we present a detailed case of a 54-year-old male patient who sought medical evaluation due to the symptomatic development of recurrent varicose veins of the left lower limb. In the patient’s history, he underwent stripping of the left great saphenous vein with several phlebectomy procedures. The patient was diagnosed with an incompetent stump of the left great saphenous vein, with wide neoangiectasia below the stump, connecting with the remaining fragment of the great saphenous vein on the thigh running in the fascia, and with an extensive incompetent drainage basin on the thigh and calf. The patient was offered a two-stage treatment. After signing an informed consent form, the hybrid treatment was performed. The first stage involved laser thermal ablation of the left great saphenous vein stump with sclerotherapy of neoangiectasia, and laser therapy of the great saphenous vein fragment, and sclerotherapy of the drainage basin on the thigh. In the second stage the calf varicose vein sclerotherapy was performed one month after initial hybrid procedure. The patient used compression therapy for six weeks after the last treatment – a compression stocking with 23–32 mm Hg. The patient was monitored after the procedure. The procedure and the post-operative period was without complications. The proposed treatment eliminated the severe symptoms and signs and provided the patient with the expected cosmetic effect. ",
