title="Case reportTakayasu disease \– still diagnosed too late",
abstract="The paper presents a case of a 54-year old female with long lasting atypical subacute symptoms of the Takayasu disease, previously not diagnosed and treated symptomatically. It was not until the occurrence of the acute symptoms of prolonged fever and increased level of inflammatory markers that a more extensive diagnostic work-up was applied. What played the important role in the diagnostic were the precise anamnesis and physical examination as well as the Doppler ultrasound examination which revealed an almost pathognomonic picture of arteritis, leading eventually to the accurate diagnosis and application of effective treatment.",
