title="Statins \– increasing importance in treatment of many diseases",
abstract="In the paper the mechanism of statins has been presented, including pleotropic action. According to existing recommendation of international societies the hints for implementation of statins have been discussed, especially their effectiveness in reduction of cardiovascular risks. There have been also introduced contraindication in treating with statins, the possibilities of prevalence of negative effects and actions with other drugs. On the basis of clinical studies the principals of using statins in metabolic syndrome and in coronary heart disease have been discussed. Chosen clinical studies with statin involvement have been analysed as well.",
