title="Review paperThe role of skin barrier, some environmental factors and breast feeding in atopic dermatitis",
abstract="This paper presents the current views on genetic background and the influence of some environmental factors on the clinical course of atopic dermatitis (AD). Independently of atopy gene mutations, epidermal barrier dysfunction in genetically predisposed individuals leads to harmful effects of environmental agents and to skin inflammation. The mild to moderate form of AD is developed, without high IgE level. In this case skin care with emollients, and elimination of allergens and harmful environmental factors is the most important. In severe form of AD, with high levels of total and specific IgE, skin lesions are the symptoms of IgE dependent allergy. The unnecessary tendency to elimination of several foods from the diet is observed. Therefore, we present [RA1] the rules of food allergy diagnosis and the indications for diet. The contemporary view on the role of breast feeding in atopic and non-atopic children is presented too.",
