title="Febrile state, hepatitis and severe thrombocytopenia in the course of cytomegalovirus infection",
abstract="The establishment of the febrile state etiology is often difficult and complicated, interdisciplinary diagnostic issue. A base of quick diagnosis and ordering prospective efficient treatment of febrile patient is accurate planning of diagnostic scheme. The diagnostic procedure of febrile patients with parallel liver enzymes elevations should be focused on viral hepatitis serology tests. The hematologic abnormalities like thrombocytopenia, leucopoenia and presence of the atypical leucocytes in the peripheral blood concomitant with fever are an indication for diagnostic bone marrow biopsy. Cytomegalovirus infections in immunocompetent hosts are usually self-limited. However in the case of severe course of the infection with fever and multiple organs involvement the antiviral therapy should be consider. We present a case report of 46 years old female patient with febrile state, hepatitis and severe thrombocytopenia in the course of cytomegalovirus infection.",
