title="Pseudotumor (idiopathic inflammation) of orbit \– treatment with special regard to radiotherapy",
abstract="The goal of the work is presentation of our own experience in the treatment of 3 cases with orbital idiopathic inflammation in the period between 1990-1998. Ophthalmologic examination, USG, CT, NMR and histologic verification are recommended for diagnosis. Systemic steroidtherapy is recommended as the first line in spite of low percentage of response and high percentage of recurrences. Surgical treatment may be effective. Radiotherapy is more effective method of treatment. It should be always considered in early stage of disease in the cases of greater risk of malignant transformation, i.e. in older patients with subacute onset of disease, hypoechogenic changes in USG investigation and minimal inflammatory reaction. Irradiation of orbits was carried out with cobalt unit or 10 MeV photons. Doses of 20-36 Gy were opplied in 10-18 fractions.",
