abstract="During the years 2007-2013 the 7th Research Framework, which includes scientific research in the field of health, will be realized in European Union countries. So far rheumatic diseases have been treated like other chronic diseases in previous research frameworks. For this reason since 2004 scientists, health professionals and organizations of rheumatic people have been lobbying for the same priority for rheumatic diseases as for heart diseases, cancer, AIDS/HIV and diabetic disease. The result of united activities is the acceptance of Written Declaration No41 on rheumatic diseases by the European Parliament and voting for amendments to the 7th Research Framework which explicitly mention rheumatic diseases.",
