title="Pulmonary diseases \– when is a cardiologist\’s consultation is needed?",
abstract="The lungs and the heart are closely related in anatomy and function, and therefore pulmonary diseases influence the signs of heart diseases and heart diseases have significant impact on pulmonary diseases. There are many signs and complaints which are diagnosed both in patients with pulmonary diseases and those with heart diseases: dyspnoea, chest pain, cough, exercise intolerance, haemoptysis, and \– in selected cases \– cyanosis. The cardiologist\’s consultation should be performed \– instead of differential diagnosis of the above signs \– to estimate the influence of lung diseases on heart diseases and heart diseases on lung diseases, to assess the impact of pulmonary disease treatment on the heart and to assess circulatory status of the patients before thoracosurgery or chemotherapy.",
