abstract="Delivery, specially the vaginal one, causes a range of changes in the pelvic floor structures. Among them there are temporary changes and final changes, changes caused by the delivery itself and by natural stretching and alteration of configuration of the pelvic floor structures. This paper presents perineal tissue changes after vaginal delivery, such as perineal tears, hematomas, iatrogenic damages, as well as discussed the role of episiotomy in delivery. In further part of the paper there are damages to the anal canal mentioned (i.e. obstetric anal sphincters incontinency and ano-vaginal fistulas).",
