title="Burch colposuspensions after unsatisfactory TVT and IVS tension free tapes procedures",
abstract="There have occured revolutionary technological changes in stress urinary incontinence (SUI) operative treatment during over last ten years. Despite this, therapy effectiveness, as well as peri- and postoperative complications rate, are still unsatisfactory. Aim of the study. To evaluate the route of Burch colposuspension, peri- and postoperative period in patients with SUI symptoms after procedures with the use of monofilament TVT and multifilament IVS. Material and methods. Burch colposuspensions were conducted in Gynecologic and Gynecologic Oncology Clinic of First Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics Medical University of Łódź in Madurowicz Hospital among 8 women with medium degree of paravaginal defect aged 48 to 71 years in the period of 10 to 39 months from operation with use of TVT (n=3) or IVS (n=5). Results. Taking into account possibility of adhesions operations were done with big caution. In all patients we succeded to conduct colposuspension. In one case in woman after IVS, because of adhesions, we conducted vaginal elevation only on one side. Operations and postoperative period proceeded without any complications. Conclusions. Among patients after operation with use of retropubic tapes TVT and IVS Burch colposuspension is possible to conduct. Adhesions which occur in Retzius space oblige to big caution during bladder preparation. In individual cases there is possible to conduct one side colposuspension.",
