title="The role of azithromycin in treatment of acne vulgaris",
abstract="Acne vulgaris is characterized by seborrhea and the presence of comedones, pustules, papules and scars. Isotretinoin is a basic drug for the treatment of severe form of acne conglobata and cases with increased seborrhea. Combination therapy, which includes taking an oral antibiotic and the topical use of retinoids, benzoyl peroxide and azelaic acid, is recommended in cases of moderate to severe acne. The best results in treating the inflammatory form of acne can be obtained by starting therapy with systemic administration of the antibiotic, and then applying a combination of the antibiotic and topical retinoids. Azithromycin may be a basic antibiotic for the treatment of moderate to severe acne as it produces desirable results after a short period of administration with very few, insignificant side effects.",
