title="The clinical effectiveness, benefits and adverse effects of insulin analogues",
abstract="The discovery of insulin was one of the greatest medical breakthroughs of the 20th century. The development and the innovations of insulin create newer insulin products like insulin analogues that more closely mimic basal and prandial insulin secretion and allow more flexible treatment with a lower risk of the development of hypoglycaemia. The use of insulin analogues is well-tolerated by diabetic patients, even by children or pregnant women with gestational diabetes. Only single cases concerning lipoatrophy or allergy have been described so far as adverse effects of this insulin supplementation.",
