title="Original paperTopical therapy with tacrolimus as an alternative therapy for seborrheic dermatitis",
abstract="Tacrolimus is a macrolactam and has anti-inflammatory properties. Compared to glucocorticosteroids, it is characterized by a high level of selectivity and safety. The topical efficacy of this drug allows it to be used in the therapy of selected inflammatory dermatoses, including seborrheic dermatitis. Because of the few clinical reports in the literature concerning application of tacrolimus (ointment 0.1%), the authors observed its use as a therapy of seborrheic dermatitis. Tacrolimus was applied twice daily in 4 patients with seborrheic dermatitis for up to month, which resulted in clearance of skin lesions. In all the patients, total disappearance of skin lesions was noted. The most common side effects were itching and burning at the sites of application. Tacrolimus seems to be a new therapeutic option in the management of seborrheic dermatitis.",
