abstract="Chronic kidney disease and diabetes are increasing in frequency among Western population. They are both potent risk factors for the development of anemia. In this review we highlight the importance of anemia in diabetes, especially it\’s early recognition and treatment. We also focus on the patophysiology of anemia in diabetes and chronic kidney disease. Recent publications from large-scale interventional studies and new guidelines are also presented.",
