The article reviews the current literature on clinical studies concerned with growth retardation and growth hormone (GH) therapy in children with JIA. Growth retardation is a result of persistent inflammation in JIA and may be intensified by the adverse effects of glucocorticoid therapy. Current treatment strategies in JIA do not always stop growth retardation, in which case GH therapy is recommended. The best results are achieved when GH is applied before severe growth retardation has appeared. %A Gniadek, Ewa %A Postępski, Jacek %P 112-120 %9 journal article %U https://www.termedia.pl/Growth-hormone-therapy-in-growth-retardation-in-juvenile-idiopathic-arthritis,18,14794,1,1.html
