The characteristic triad of HD includes motor disturbances, cognitive impairment and psychiatric symptoms. The article presents the case of a female patient, 47 years old, with an episode of psychotic depression as an initial symptom of HD, hospitalized at the Department of Adult Psychiatry, Poznan University of Medical Sciences. A supposition of HD was made on the basis of drug-resistant depression, occurrence of neurological symptoms and the family history of HD. The diagnosis of HD was confirmed by genetic testing. Intensive treatment with antidepressants brought about a favorable therapeutic effect and the patient was discharged to continue her treatment in the outpatient clinic for HD. %A Salagierska, Joanna %A Remlinger-Molenda, Agnieszka %A Zielonka, Daniel %A Rybakowski, Janusz %P 148-151 %9 journal article %R 10.5114/nan.2016.65646 %U http://dx.doi.org/10.5114/nan.2016.65646
