This is the special case because the first pseudopapillary pancreatic tumor in child has been diagnosed, and later surgically removed, in 2004 (There were only three cases in Poland at this time). Unfortunately, in late 2008 recurrence was diagnosed and early next year the re-operation in the form of incomplete resection of pancreatic body and tail have been performed and a decision has been made of experimental therapy in the form of 12 cycles of chemotherapy. This traumatic experience had an indelible impact on mother’s perception of her child’s lost health. Perception of the disease, in the current and retrospective forms and the probability scale has been examined with ACL H.B. Gough and A.B. Heilbrun, and compared with each other.
