Type 2 diabetes is a chronic disease which develops insidiously for many years without clinical symptoms. It causes a lot of changes in the current functioning which lowers the assessment of life’s quality. Next to pharmacotherapy, there is an important element of treating patients with diabetes and that is diabetes education which aims at preparing the patient for interaction and cooperation in the treatment process properly. Aim. Aim of the study was research on the impact of diabetes education on the assessment of patients’ life quality. Material and methods. There were 100 respondents (56 women and 44 men). All patients were educated in diabetes topic. The controlled group consisted of 100 patients (57 women and 43 men). For measurement the assessment of life’s quality and satisfaction from treating patients with type 2 diabetes there were used SF-36 (Short Form 36) and ADDQoL (Audit of Diabetes-Dependent Quality of Life). Results. The disease had an impact on the assessment of life’s quality when it comes to the patients who were and were not educated in this field. However, the patients who were educated assessed their life’s quality better within all preserves of SF-36 and ADDQoL questionnaires. Conclusions. Diabetes education has a positive impact on the assessment of life’s quality within all preserves of SF-36 and ADDQoL questionnaires.
