Allergy and infection are very common diseases with very similar clinical picture. They often occur concomitantly. The article describes the relationship in pathophysiology (the role of lymphocytes Th1, Th2 and regulatory cells), hygienic hypothesis and the influence of pharmacotherapy of infectious diseases (paracetamol and antibiotics) on allergy and asthma incidence.
