Arteriosclerosis of lower limb is a chronic disease and in its advanced form it can lead to many complications, including the development of ischemic ulcers. According to epidemiological data, arterial ulcers account for 20% of wounds located on the lower limbs. The care of patients with ischemic ulcers requires specialist treatment. The most important element of therapy is causal treatment, i.e. improvement of tissue blood flow, then implementation of pharmacotherapy, proper care of the wound, reduction of risk factors, education of the patient and his family. The proper local management of the wound, in accordance with the latest recommendations, increases effectiveness wound healing and reduces the risk of complications such as infection.
