Anxiety and hope are the context of human life, they create dynamism and the value of human existence. They are multidimensional and difficult to uniquely identify. They are, however, essential in the experience of illness and passing. In the description of hope it is worth paying attention to the hope as an error, which is a kind of fundamental therapeutic problem. In describing this issue, the author analyses the importance of doubt in the dynamism of personal development, the main sources and types of human anxiety, the existential value of hope, and the role of religion in sickness and proposes a realistic assessment of the human transitoriness.
