Choice of antibiotic in hospital therapy of respiratory tract infections
Online publish date: 2010/12/27
Respiratory tract infections caused by bacterial pathogens need an antibiotic therapy. Atypical bacteria and invasive infections are under special attention, because there are able to promote or cause many severe respiratory failures. For this reason a proper antibiotic therapy should be administered, according to guidelines and clinical experiences. Similarly, in severe pneumonia the first choise of antibiotic is based on empiric therapy, and after this – modified relatively to microbiological results.
