Chronic urticaria is a complex and heterogeneous disease. Diagnosis is simple but not so its etiology. Numerous tests including provocations are often needed. Therapies of urticaria resolve to avoiding provocative factors and to treating diseases responsible for them. Basic medicaments in urticaria are second generation antihistamines, characterized anti-histamine, anti-inflammatory and having low adverse effect profile. In some cases there is a need to increase the dose of antihistamine fourfold. Alternative methods – steroids and cyclosporine A – should be reserved for the most difficult clinical cases.
