Familial and secondary periodic paralysis. Case report of thyrotoxic periodic paralysis

Periodic paralysis (PP) is an infrequent, treatable, familial or secondary disorder which is characterized by transient attacks of muscle weakness associated with changes in the serum potassium level. This paper presents a review of different types of PP and a case report of thyrotoxic PP.
