At present, it is the most commonly occurring inflammatory skin disease. Atopic dermatitis is a chronic condition with diverse clinical presentations. Patients with atopic dermatitis may benefit from personalized medicine which is focused on improved selection of specific therapy, risk prediction and design of disease-modifying management strategies. There is an urgenat need to identify biomarkers to support clinical diagnostic criteria in approaching the disease from the perspective of precision medicine. The article presents state-of-the-art knowledge about of the clinical diversity of atopic dermatitis along with proposed diagnostic criteria.
